Alicia Keys has been doing a bit of soul searching.
And it's all due to the death of her mate.
That's always going to give even the glitziest of celebs a reality check.
The tragedy made her rethink her own behaviour.
And she reckons it's brought her back down to earth.
She told Rolling Stone magazine: "Maybe God knew I needed an extreme situation to help me understand what's real.
"Every time I'd wake up, I'd get dressed and put on my little facade, like, 'Everything's great. I've got these shows going on, I just finished this film.'
"(There were) all these interview answers to the point where I'd give interview answers to my family."
