There's a whole host of films worth missing out on the summer for - and Tim Evans gives us the latest...

BEWITCHED

Certificate: PG

Running time: 102m

What's it about? This big screen adaptation of the 1960s TV series sees Nicole Kidman as the witch-who-wants-to-be-normal and Will Ferrell as her self-obsessed screen husband.

What's good? Ferrell and Kidman display a real comedy chemistry and When Harry Met Sally writer Norah Ephron's decision to set the movie amid a remake of the original show works a treat.

The Perfect ManThe Perfect ManWhat's bad? There's not a lot to dislike  - movie buffs of a certain age may have enjoyed a bit more of Shirley MacLaine hamming it up as Kidman's flaky TV mom.

Worth a look? Definitely. It's a steaming cauldron of good gags and look out for a scene-stealing performance from the American Office's Steve Carell.

THE PERFECT MAN

Certificate: PG

Running time: 100m

UnleashedUnleashedWhat's it about? Teen matchmaker Hilary Duff uses flowers, letters and the internet to create a fictitious "perfect man" for her unlucky-in-love mom Heather Locklear.

What's good? Not a lot, I'm afraid. Even the gauchest teen would find their intelligence insulted by this mawkish romantic goo.

What's bad? Duff shows she's no Lindsay Lohan, Locklear looks embarrassed (as well she might) and the plot clunks into place like a rusty cog.

Worth a look? No.

UNLEASHED

Certificate: 18

Running time: 102m

What's it about? Jet Li plays the man-hound attack dog unleashed by Glasgow gangster Bob Hoskins to collect his debts.

What's good? The idea of a feral orphan used as canine killer is an intriguing one and the martial arts set-pieces deliver the expected spine-jarring jolt.

What's bad? An unlikely plot development which sees Jet Li being adopted by Morgan Freeman's blind piano tuner is as soft as the action is hard.

Worth a look? Maybe. Fans of Jet Li will have no complaints about the stunts but the thrust is blunted by sentimental storytelling.
