Avril's Bold Statement

But now she's older, she's making some rather different statements.

Yep, can you believe the girl who brought us the tie and trainer combo is all grown-up and hitched?

And doesn't she like to blow her own trumpet about it: "I'm the best thing that's ever happened to him."

That's what she told US mag Jane about her hubby, Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley.

"We have a really good, strong relationship.

"There's a lot of trust."

And it also seems she has turned her back on her old rocky clobber, in favour of something a wee bit more sophis...

Av said: "I wanted to be like, 'Oh, let's totally have a rock 'n' roll, goth wedding'. But at the same time I was like, 'I've been dreaming about my wedding day since I was a little girl. I have to wear the white dress.'"

"I wanted to be a princess, OK?

"People thought I would have done, like, some black wedding dress, and yeah, I would have. But at the same time I was thinking about our pictures.

"I didn't want to be, like, 20 years later, 'Oh, why did I wear my hair like that? It's not cool now.'"
