Hannah Murray and Nicholas Hoult 04.07Hannah Murray & Nicholas Hoult The great, the good and the downright hilarious have been hailed.

Yes, the Bafta TV shortlist is crammed with the best on the box this year.

In the continuing drama category, EastEnders will be battling it out against Emmerdale, The Bill and Holby City - no mention of Corrie, though.

The cast of Skins - including Hannah Murray and Nicholas Hoult - will hope to win best drama series, alongside Rome, The Street and Life On Mars.

Elsewhere, Judi Dench has nabbed a record 24th Bafta nod, while her BBC period drama Cranford (for which she’s been nominated as best actress) has gained the most accolade over all with three Bafta nods.

Promising lots of glitzy action, the Bafta TV Awards will be held at the London Palladium on Sunday 20th April, hosted by Graham Norton.
