It seems the pull of the movie world is too strong for two Oscar-winning actresses who've previously said they were happy to concentrate on being mums.
Both Gwyneth Paltrow and Julia Roberts have signed up for new films recently, despite hinting that they were more than happy to take a break from all things Hollywood.
Whilst pregnant, Gwyneth revealed that she might never work again and instead dedicate her time to her family, as she told W magazine in May 2004:
"There are certain women in this business who have children and I just think, 'You must never, literally never, see them.'"
"You can't do movies back to back and see your child if they go to school. I might not work for ages. Acting is a fantastic job, but it's not going to define my life, much to my agent's horror."
However, Gwynnie has just signed up for a new movie Running With Scissors, which starts filming in Los Angeles in March.
She currently lives with her husband, Coldplay's Chris Martin, and their daughter Apple - born in May 2004 - in London.
Meanwhile, Julia Roberts is due back working - a few months after giving birth to her twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus in November 2004.
The Ocean's Twelve star is to voice the title role in an animated version of children's novel Charlotte's Web, plus it's reported she's in talks to star in a romantic comedy called The Seven Year Switch.
In August 2004, the 37-year-old said of her new role as a mum: "I'm not planning anything. I just want to play it as it comes."
But her personal trainer, Kathy Kaehler, said at the time: "Julia says she's taking at least five years off from movie-making to raise her twins."
