Whisperings about these two getting hitched are as old as the Hollywood Hills.

And now we have some extra fuel to throw on that fire - according to People, Bey and Jay-Z have taken out a marriage licence in New York.

According to their source, the pair obtained a licence on Tuesday morning and the document is valid for 60 days - plenty of time to make it down the aisle.

But their camps were (not surprisingly) staying tight-lipped - Bey's rep told People: "No comment."

Jay-Z's peeps could not be reached.

But while we'd adore all this love stuff to be true we won't hold our breath...

We all remember the splicing chit-chat a year ago - that they we set to be hitched in the Caribbean but alas it was nothing more than a rumour. And weren't they supposedly trotting up the aisle in France not so many months ago too?

Fingers crossed this time though.
