Beyonce Knowles found a recent meal hard to stomach when her guests badgered her about her use of fur in her videos and clothing line.
Her guests - who'd won the dinner date - turned out to be activists from People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (Peta).
They were all tucking in at New York's trendy Nobu 57, when the unnamed pair placed a DVD on the table.
Beyonce and her mum, who was with her, were shown a video expose of the fur industry before making their excuses and leaving.
The Peta members had won the dinner date at a VH1 Save The Music auction.
Peta spokesman Michael McGraw said they had contacted Beyonce numerous times over the years.
"By wearing and designing fur she is setting a terrible example for young women who look up to her and want to emulate her.
"She is promoting one of the most violent industries on the planet," he said.
J.Lo has also targeted by Peta for her use of fur in her clothing line but the organisation has a huge celebrity fanbase, including: Pamela Anderson, Pink, Alec Baldwin and Franz Ferdinand.
