Veteran entertainer Cilla Black hasn't had a Lorra Lorra luck in her bid to open a trendy London nightspot.
Westminster Council has turned down the 61-year-old telly presenter's application to open the club, provisionally called Black, near Oxford Circus.
They say they area already has too many late bars and clubs as it is.
The club, which would have incorporated a restaurant, bar and dancefloor, was a personal dream of the Scouse songstress.
Cilla, who presented Blind Date and Surprise Surprise, is now searching for an alternative venue for the club.
She previously said: "It's been a lifelong ambition of mine to open a nightclub - and one my late husband Bobby would totally disapprove of.
"The club will be open to all - I don't do that members-only thing, I hate snobbery. There will be a VIP area but it won't be closed off.
"There will be a ginormous bar - one that you can eat at - and we'll serve simple food like steak sandwiches with fine champagne."
But Cilla, who started out as a cloakroom attendant at Liverpool's famous Cavern Club, will have to wait.
