She's had her fair share of drama...
But Britney Spears is no skinflint.
In fact, she's mahoosively generous.
The rapidly reforming popster has just donated a whopping $25,000 (around £12,600) to American Idol's TV fundraiser special Idol Gives Back.
Brit was apparently moved to tears by the series of moving appeals broadcast by Aids, poverty relief and children's charities in the programme.
An insider told Life & Style magazine:
"She watched the show and cried for, like, two hours over the children in Africa with malaria.
"She didn't know much about the disease, so she Googled it. She was horrified to realise kids were dying from mosquito bites.
"So she went online and donated after getting (her father) Jamie's permission."
Brit's father Jamie is currently in legal control of her finances, hence the need for his go-ahead.
This conscientious act is the latest in a series of moves that suggest Brit may be getting back on form, following her treatment at a psychiatric unit at the beginning of this year.
She's also made a guest appearance on US comedy show How I Met Your Mother, a role which attracted positive reviews from critics.
