But Britney Spears has once again suffered a blow in the custody battle for her kids.

A Los Angeles court yesterday turned down Brit's bid to regain 50/ 50 custody of her two sons.

The 25-year-old popster lost custody of two-year-old Sean Preston and Jayden James, one, to ex Kevin Federline on 1st October this year, after failing to undergo court-ordered drug and alcohol tests.

Since then, her lawyers have been working round the clock to allow her more parental access.

But all bets were off last night, as the judge flat out refused Brit further care of her own children.

Kevin FederlineKevin FederlineAnd to add insult to injury, he pointed to a damning report criticising Brit's parenting skills as justification for the decision.

After observing Britney with her kids, court-appointed parenting coach Lisa Hacker noted in an official report that the singer "rarely engaged the children in conversation or play", adding that the boys had no obvious routine in Brit's "chaotic" house.

She concluded: "Unless Ms Spears realises the consequences of her behaviour and the impact it has on her children, nothing is going to be successful."

Following this latest legal development, Brit will continue to be monitored as she visits her kids twice a week between noon and 7pm, plus one overnight visit per week.

The judge also ordered the singer to carry on taking random alcohol and drugs tests, and to ensure her tots are always in child seats whenever she drives with them.
