Spike Lee and Thierry HenrySpike Lee and Thierry HenryMove over Vinnie Jones, there's a new footballer heading for Hollywood (or should that be Volleywood?).

Arsenal superstar Thierry Henry has been offered a role in Spike Lee's new movie, reports The Mirror.

The Gunners striker will star alongside Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster and Brit actor Clive Owen in The Inside Man.

Thierry and Spike are good pals, with the legendary film director often seen at Highbury in the Frenchman's luxury box.

And Spike, behind classics such as Do The Right Thing and Jungle Fever, believes Thierry - who has been at Arsenal since 1999 - has a glittering Hollywood career ahead of him with his smouldering good looks and charisma.

Vinnie JonesVinnie JonesSpike's biographer Kaleem Aftab said: "Spike reckons Thierry has the talent and charisma to be a star.

"I have seen them together and it is just like a couple of kids fooling around."

Vinnie Jones is the most famous footballer-turned-actor after appearing in Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and Gone In Sixty Seconds.

Troubled ex-England striker Stan Collymore has a cameo in the forthcoming Basic Instinct 2 while former Man Utd star Eric Cantona has appeared in several French language films.
