And Cate Blanchett has been given two major nods.

The actress is nominated for best lead and best supporting actress, for her roles in Elizabeth: The Golden Age and I'm Not There, respectively.

Sean Penn's adventure flick Into The Wild also did well with four nods, including best actor for Emile Hirsch.

The awards will be held on Sunday 27th January next year.
