Felicity Huffman and her, ahem, trouser attachment have won critical acclaim in new film Transamerica.
So could Catherine Zeta-Jones be the latest lady to try acting in drag?
It would seem an unlikely route to award success - but Desperate Housewives star Felicity has shown that being a woman playing a man who dresses like a woman (you following this?) can get you noticed.
It's already bagged her a Tribeca Film Festival gong and a Golden Globe.
Now rumour has it Catherine is being lined up to play a 1960s sex-change cabaret artist in an upcoming movie.
The biopic of real-life aristocratic transsexual April Ashley will look at how her marriage to Baron Rowallan was annulled in a landmark court case.
According to the New York Post, Catherine is being "lined up" for the role and film bosses are waiting to hear if she will say yes.
Catherine once confessed: "I have a big ambition to do a really tacky Vegas show with drag queens."
Hubby Michael Douglas, meanwhile, once joked that he thought Cath was a "man in drag" when they first met because they didn't kiss until they'd been dating for nine months.
Sounds like she'd do the role proud.
