Girls Aloud star Cheryl Tweedy is to wed footballer boyfriend Ashley Cole after he popped the question during a romantic holiday in Dubai.
The 24-year-old Arsenal and England star treated the Geordie chart-topper to a romantic camel ride before presenting her with a £50,000 diamond ring.
The pair - dubbed the new Posh and Becks - have been dating for eight months after meeting in a nightclub last year.
Their romance blossomed after Ashley bought a £750,000 penthouse in the same North London block where Cheryl lives with her bandmates.
"It feels fantastic," Cheryl said, as the pair flew off for yet another romantic break, this time in Marbella.
"Ashley went down on one knee. He's a gentleman. It was all very romantic."
And a close friend of the couple told The Sun that Cheryl was genuinely surprised by the proposal.
"They are ecstatic. Cheryl had no idea Ashley planned to propose. He has made her dreams come true."
