Chatting to the Daily Mirror at the launch of KitKat Senses, Cheryl dropped a hint that her and Ashley Cole’s marriage was on the mend, as she broached the happy subject of babies.

"I’ve been broody since I was about 16," she said. "I’d love to have a big family."

Chezza also appeared ready to talk about her recent marriage difficulties - albeit in a roundabout way.

She tributed her four Girls Aloud pals for getting her through the tough times, saying:

"I often think to myself if I’m having a sad moment or an angry moment, if I didn’t have these four in my life it would be worthless.

"Everyone’s here to help each other. We stabilise each other. Whatever any of us is going through, bad or good, we have each other."

Nicola Roberts also made reference to the recent holiday she, Cheryl and Kimberley Walsh went on in Thailand after allegations of Ashley cheating on Cheryl hit the British press.

"It was the best girlie holiday. We sunbathed, chatted and drank cocktails," she said.
