Clare's Back On The Square

Let's face it, she isn't doing herself many favours...

Gemma Bissix has headed back to her original soapy stomping ground of EastEnders.

But after her stint as evil Clare Cunningham in Hollyoaks she seems to have been tainted.

When Gemma was originally a local on Albert Square back in 1993 she was a rather sweet, although somewhat drippy lass called Clare Bates.

She first popped up with her mum, Debbie Tyler.

But in true Enders stylee Debbie came to a sticky end and Clare was adopted by her randomer stepdad Nigel Bates (remember him?).

They both waved goodbye to Walford for Scotland in 1998.

But for Gemma another soap roll was on the horizon in the form of the scheming Clare (do casting peeps have no originality?) who caused havoc in Hollyoaks.

So EastEnders bosses knew they were onto a winner - perhaps that's why they have brought Clare back as a somewhat shady character.

She rocks up to stay with Dot, but there are mysteries a-plenty... why does she behave so strangely when she's asked about Nigel?

And what the hell is going on between her and Ian Beale?
