What do Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, JK Rowling, Diesel clothes and New York City have in common?
They are all the height of cool, according to a new survey of hip city dwellers.
Forty-something Hollywood hunks Pitt and Depp have been named the coolest celebrities around, beating a host of young pretenders in the poll carried out for the launch of the Cool Brandleaders book.
Jude Law and Kiera Knightly also rate well on the list of cool, while rising music stars The Streets make the hippest music and NY pips London as the coolest city.
The survey of 3,000 "urbanites" - city dwellers between 18 and 44 - found that Diesel makes the coolest clothes, Audi creates the coolest cars, and Quentin Tarantino directs the coolest films.
There is even a category for coolest business person, won by Virgin boss Richard Branson who this week revealed plans for commercial space flights. Now that's pretty cool...
The total of 63 entrants were chosen from an initial list of 1,300 by experts on the Cool Brandleaders Council.
Voters couldn't decide where David Beckham is at - voting him both cool and uncool, while wife Victoria won't be happy to hear she is merely seen as naff, alongside her nemesis Jordan.
The survey was timed to coincide with Cool Brandleaders, a book naming the hottest companies and brands, as chosen by the Cool Brandleaders Council.
