Samia SmithSamia SmithShe may have once been a drab dog-lover, but Corrie's hairdresser Maria Sutherland is now officially top soap totty.

Actress Samia Smith (formerly Ghadie), who plays scissor-happy Maria, has been crowned Sexiest Female at the Inside Soap Awards.

And her female Street co-stars came out on top, too.

Sally Lindsay - who's given us the moving portrayal of pint-pulling pub landlady Shelly in emotional meltdown - was named Best Actress, while Kate Ford easily snatched the Best Bitch award for scheming Tracy Barlow.

But it was a shock win again for EastEnders, which scooped Best Soap for the ninth year in a row and took home seven awards.

Nigel HarmanNigel HarmanThe Street's stars were left fuming for another year - with only six gongs - despite far better ratings for the ITV1 rival.

But there were no surprises in the hottest male category. Enders' gorgeous Nigel Harman (Dennis Rickman) nabbed awards for Best Actor and Sexiest Male for the second year running.

And the award for Outstanding Achievement went to Enders' big-haired blonde Letitia Dean, soon to quit the BBC1 soap.

Emmerdale didn't go home empty-handed, either...

The Dingles got Best Family Award and young Charley Webb, playing Debbie Dingle, beat Corrie's Sam Aston (Chesney Brown) to nab the Best Young Actor gong.
