Damon Albarn has gone for the jugular of singer Pete Doherty, slamming his wayward Live 8 performance and claiming he is overrated.
The Blur star says he hates him so much he is considering launching a 'Make Doherty History' campaign - spoofing the charity gig's Make Poverty History logo.
Damon - speaking under the guise of his cartoon band Gorillaz - said he was "appalled" at Pete's duet with Sir Elton John.
"The concert was all about raising awareness, but Peter looked like he was having trouble raising his own awareness - he looked wasted," stormed Damon.
"With Africa, we're talking about a nation battling through immense poverty and he can't quite get it together to sing a song.
"On that day he just seemed like an odd image."
Pete came in for huge criticism after the gig for his performance of T-Rex classic Children Of The Revolution.
Damon clearly is unimpressed with Pete full stop, not to mention his new band Babyshambles.
He told Channel4.com/music: "Babyshambles have only ever released one song. One song!
"People talk about this great new talent, but there's nothing to him. He is well overrated.
"I'm starting a campaign to make Doherty history," he concluded.
