Dan's A Happy Man

Daniel CraigSome say he's kinda shy.

But Daniel Craig was more than happy to stop for a chat last night.

We caught up with the Bond actor as he collected the prestigious variety award at the The British Independent Film Awards bash yesterday.

And he sure was thrilled at the win.

"Something like this, I've never won before in my life. I'm slightly shocked - and well, it's wonderful, " Daniel told Sky Showbiz.

"Tonight is all about celebrating British independent film. And I'm very happy to come and do that.

"It's a real honour to come here and take part in this. I'm just going to have a good time tonight."

Though he did add: "I don't like people saying 'Is (the ceremony) good for the British film industry?'

Judi Dench"It's not a charity case, it's doing quite well. It's alive, we've gotta keep it going like that."

We also stopped for a natter with Judi Dench, who was singing her Bond co-star's praises out and out.

"I think he's simply wonderful," Judi told Sky Showbiz of Daniel Craig.

"I think (Daniel's variety award) is terrific, and it'll do him a lot of good. I think he'll like that. And I like it more."
