Hugh GrantHugh Grant If you look up romantic comedy in the dictionary you find a picture of Hugh Grant next to it.

To say he's typecast is an understatement...

But Heavens-to-Betsy, Hugh wants to break the mould.

Could this change be wrapped up with his split from Jemima Khan?

Well, it appears he's had a change of heart about his career, too - Hugh is set to play a Doctor Who baddie... after he turned down the chance to play the Doc himself.

Yep, he was offered the role of the timelord two years ago but decided against it, with the role eventually going to Christopher Eccleston.

But times are achanging... Hugh told The Sun: "I was offered the role a few years back and was highly flattered.

"It's only when you see it on the screen that you think, 'Damn! That was good. Why did I say no?'"

So, now he's heading to the dark side to become a Doctor Who foe: "I'm in talks about a one-off role. I'd prefer to be a baddie, they're more fun!"

Meanwhile, Hugh's spokesperson has said that he will not be attending ex-girlfriend Liz Hurley's wedding:

"Hugh is not going to Elizabeth's wedding. He was not invited and there is no weirdness or bitterness."
