Ellen PageEllen PageThe hacks have been heard.

And they've hollered in favour of rising star Ellen Page's teen pregnancy flick, Juno.

Although Ellen missed out on the best actress award to our very own Julie Christie in Away from Her, Ellen still took centre stage to pick up the award for best comedy.

Best supporting actress went to Amy Ryan at the Critics' Choice ceremony, presented by the Broadcast Film Critics Association, while Daniel Day-Lewis was named best actor for his role in There Will Be Blood.

Penelope Cruz' beau, Javier Bardem, got gold for best supporting actor.

Hairspray also had a good day with two awards, but the Cohen brothers, Joel and Ethan, were the clear winners, picking up three gongs - including best film - for No Country For Old Men.
