The ex-Busted singer has struggled with booze problems since the band split in January - but besotted Emma says he will overcome his demons.

The sexy 29-year-old says even though Matt is eight years her junior, his maturity has impressed her.

"What he is doing and going through right now makes me respect him so much," she told the Mirror.

"I feel so proud of him. He is doing something that is very tough at the moment, but he is doing the right thing."

Busted split when singer Charlie Simpson called it a day to form a new band.

Fun-loving Matt, 21, immediately took to the celeb circuit and was seen out regularly.

Emma added: "Yes he did drink a lot but he is a 21-year-old guy in the music business and it goes with the territory.

"I never thought he had a problem. But Matt did.

"People talk about our age difference but Matt is a lot more mature than a lot of men I have met in their 40s."

And with the praise now gushing, smitten Emma concluded: "Matt is sweet and caring and one of the few men I've met who always puts others first."
