Emmerdale is to get a new star for a one-off episode, in the form of a chart-topper.
In a special summer episode, Seventies crooner Tony Christie will be taking on the Yorkshire soap.
A huge fan of the soap, Tony will be playing himself in the programme and performs a duet with Emmerdale regular Diane - played by Elizabeth Estensen - after she spots him singing in a nightclub.
The Seventies crooner will appear as himself in a special Emmerdale episode this summer.
"I've always been a fan of Emmerdale and am very excited about appearing in the show," he revealed.
"My mum is more impressed that I will be on Emmerdale than she is with my No.1 single! This is something that I have never done before and I am really looking forward to it."
An Emmerdale spokeswoman said: "We are delighted that Tony is available to appear in this unique episode, which is going to be a lot of fun. Tony will be performing one of his songs, and will cause a stir by inviting Diane to join him on stage."
He's currently No.1 in the UK charts with his re-released single Is This The Way To Amarillo?, which he revived with funny man Peter Kay in aid of Comic Relief.
He follows stars such as cricketer Ian Botham, rugby's Martin Offiah and pop's Marti Pellow, who have all guested in the series. The episode will be filmed in July and screened in August.
