George Gives Us His Heart

George MichaelGeorge Michael is in festive spirit.

He says his new documentary, an honest look at the highs and lows of his career, is a "Christmas present" for his fans.

At the screening of George Michael: A Different Story, George said the film offered an explanation as to why his singing had been such a "stop, start process".

The notoriously publicity-shy singer said he wasn't attempting to address shock headlines written about him.

And he insisted there was no Wham! reunion with Andrew Ridgeley on the cards - the closest they get, he said, was playing their old records together.

In the film, Michael talks about the pain of losing his Brazilian boyfriend, Anselmo, to Aids in the early nineties.

George said recounting his ordeal had been "cathartic" and said he was lucky to have "great friends and a great career to pull him through".

Partner Kenny Goss, who George is soon expected to marry in a civil ceremony, also tells how they met at a spa 10 years ago.

In his 21-year career, George has sold 85 million records worldwide, notching up 11 UK No.1s.
