Soap hardman Grant Mitchell will return to Eastenders - because his mum nagged him to do so.
Actor Ross Kemp confirmed he'll resurrect the psycho barman after screen mum Barbara Windsor - Peggy Mitchell in the show - wouldn't take no for an answer.
"She must have asked 50 times," admitted Ross, 40.
"In fact, she nagged so much I told her I'd say yes if she stopped asking."
Ex-Para Grant will be back after six years away and is set for a series of explosive storylines along with returning brother Phil and their gobby mum.
In its heyday the soap - with the Mitchells - was attracting upto 25m viewers. Now it is barely watched by 7m.
Ross, who will return in the Autumn in a reported £500,000 deal, added: "I think it will be enormous fun to return to a show I love and respect."
His character was last seen heading to Brazil after crashing his car into the Thames.
