Gwen Stefani was among the stars putting on a bit of a show for the 2005 Billboard Music Awards.
The former No Doubt singer won the new artist of the year award for her solo debut album Love.Angel.Music.Baby at the big music biz bash, held in Las Vegas.
But the big hitters on the night were rapper 50 Cent and rock band Green Day.
They scored six awards each. Among the honours, Fiddy (that's 50 Cent to you and me) was named as artist of the year and won album of the year for The Massacre.
Green Day won rock artist of the year and rock song of the year for Boulevard Of Broken Dreams.
And Mariah Carey wasn't far behind, notching up five awards of her own.
She picked up the female Billboard 200 album artist, female R&B/Hip-Hop artist of the year, and her No.1 single We Belong Together earned her the hot 100 song.
Shakira also did well with three gongs.
Tom Petty picked up the magazine's top honour, the century award, and told the audience: "Let me remind you that this ain't the end. I can still kick some ass."
Performances on the big night included Ciara, Ashlee Simpson and R.Kelly, who led the show's finale, Let Your Light Shine.
He wrote the song to raise money for Gulf Coast hurricane victims.
