But a natter with some of the cast at the British Soap Awards left us reeling with suspense.

Again, let us warn you, if you don't want to know what happens, read no further.

However, if a Hollyoaks indulgence is your guilty pleasure, then please yourself.

Let's start with one of our faves - Carmel McQueen, played by Gemma Merna.

We asked Gem if there'll ever really be a wedding for Carmel and Calvin, and she told us: "I can't tell you about that one, I think they're the best couple and if it was up to me it would be lovely if they did (walk down the aisle eventually)."

Someone who was more keen to spill some love news was Jessica Fox, who plays Nancy. She told Sky Showbiz: "She (Nancy) has got a new love interest coming into the show in the next week or so. He's a brand new character.

"He's going to be someone she loves to hate if that makes any sense. So, he's everything she doesn't like in a man but somehow is attracted to him."

Well, we never.

A gorgeous Roxanne McKee (who, by the way, is far more gorge in the flesh than she is on screen), had us riveted with her response to the future of character, Louise, and bad boy Warren.

She told us: "There's hever a happy future in soaps and there's going to be a lot of dark times ahead, a lot of issues that Louise has to get through before her and Warren either tie the knot, or break up, or do whatever it is they do.

"We're going to see a really dark side of Louise coming up in the next couple of weeks."

Hah, we knew Louise was a bit of a mystery madam.

And would Rox ever date someone like Warren in real life? Laughing she told us: "No man, he's a gangster - I like nice boys."
