Why are things never straight forward with Pete Doherty?
Bring on the next confusing calamity...
A young chica has come forward claiming she is preggers with his child.
Laura McLaughlin, 20, is claiming she's three months pregnant and that Pete is the one who helped her pop one in the bubba oven... with the timer set for June 2008.
Laura's apparently a straight-A student who has been offered a place at Harvard University in America - so the question we have is what on earth was she thinking knocking boots with ol' Pete?
Did we mention that Laura's got a famous godfather, who's known for having a bit of a temper?
Well she has, in the form of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Laura told The News Of The World: "The baby is Peter's. There is no doubt about that.
"I was a virgin when I met Peter and when we had sex. He knows about the baby. I told him I was pregnant the moment I found out."
Which seems funny when Pete's peeps had this to say: "Pete says he doesn't know who this girl is."
Oh, the confuddlement.
