As we're not ones for spreading scandalous gossip, we're hanging a question mark over the cause of this neck mark.

After all, it could well be a bruise. Or this man could have been playing the violin...

But it does look far more like a love bite to us...

So just who is the star sporting this badge of romance?

It's American Pie actor Chris Klein, aka Katie Holmes' fella before Tom Cruise swept her off her feet.

But what's the state of Chris' love life?

According to Us Weekly magazine, he was spotted smooching Ginnifer Goodwin (Win A Date With Tad Hamilton) at an LA bash.

Ginnifer being the lass who doesn't look too dissimilar to Katie...

A spy said the kiss "was their coming out as a couple".

But Chris' people think differently and have denied the relationship, saying the pair are "just friends".

Hmmm...
