But the couple, proud parents of baby Tiani, who turns two later this month, were soon back together and having a rollicking old time in Lovesville.
So much so that the footballer has just gotten down on his knees and popped the question.
Announcing her engagement today, the popstress said: "I'm completely over the moon.
"Darren proposing was a real surprise but I'm totally delighted. I can't stop smiling."
Truly wondrous, if somewhat surprising news.
