She's suffered a traumatic eating disorder.
And now Jamie-Lynn Sigler has come forth to tell the world about it.
The Sopranos actress battled against a soul-destroying eating disorder in the late 1990s - while first starring on the show.
But instead of hiding away or breaking down, she fought back and has now taken the brave decision to document her struggle against the illness.
Jamie-Lynn is a spokesperson for the National Eating Disorder Association in the US, and was recently honoured for her role as ambassador of the organisation.
In her speech at the association's New York-based ceremony, Jamie-Lynn chatted about how efforts to escape her eating disorder took her to that "deepest, darkest place".
She also emphasised the importance of recognising an eating disorder as more than a "superficial disease".
