Jane Fonda has revealed that she was forced to have threesomes by her "cruel" ex husband.
In her autobiography, due for release in the US next month, Jane lifts the lid on the secrets of her marriage to director Roger Vadim.
"For me with Roger Vadim, that meant bringing other women into our bed," she writes.
She goes on to describe how on one occasion, Vadim ordered a red-haired prostitute from an escort agency in France, reports the Daily Mail.
"It seems shocking that I did that, but I managed to convince myself that it was fine, that I wanted to, even though it was killing my heart."
She states that Vadim - who was previously married to Brigitte Bardot - encouraged her to find other women willing to join them in bed, suggesting she used the skills she adopted in her Oscar-winning performance as a prostitute in the 1971 movie Klute.
She claims she agreed to the sexual encounters because he made her feel "less than perfect" and he said she was obliged to satisfy his sexual fantasies.
She also blamed her ex-husband, who directed her in Barbarella, for the eating disorders that plagued her life: "I ceased eating except for crusts from his bread and rinds from his camembert."
Jane married Roger in 1967 and they were divorced in 1973. The director - who she describes as "cruel and misogynistic" and who she says forced her into other forms of group sex - died in 2000.
