It has been known for amorous couples to get a little bit carried away.
But losing a tooth in the throes of passion is taking things just a bit too far.
Sin City star Jessica Alba has revealed that she lost a tooth after a particularly strenuous love scene with her co-star in her new film.
It seems she clashed teeth with Dane Cook while they were shooting scenes for Good Luck, Chuck.
Jess explained: "I lost a tooth. Isn't that disgusting? Dane and I were smashing our faces together."
And the knock of the gnashers has left her needing dental work to sort out her smile.
But the toothless one's publicist, Brad Cafarelli, claims things aren't as bad as they seem.
He said: "She chipped a tooth and it was easily fixed."
We're relieved. We can't imagine it would be a flattering look.
