Johnny Says Stop Rumours

Johnny and Jessica on promotional duties Jackass star Johnny Knoxville has pleaded with the media to quit speculation over his supposed affair with Jessica Simpson.

The star is desperate to put an end to the untrue stories as they are upsetting his family.

Johnny, who is famed for his hardcore stunts on the Jackass show, said:

"It's an unfortunate thing because I have a wife and a nine-year-old and that stuff is hard on the family.

"Luckily, my wife and I have a dialogue and I said, 'Look, people are making these stories up and putting them in the papers.'"

Rumours of an affair between Johnny and Jessica began whilst they were working on the forthcoming film, The Dukes Of Hazzard.

Jessica, who is married to singer Nick Lachey, has also denied the affair, telling US GQ magazine:

"Oh, we both laughed about that. I really adore Johnny Knoxville, I think he's great. If people wanna make that romantic, they can. But I'm married, and my husband is my romance."

The Dukes Of Hazzard is released in the UK later this year.
