The rumours suggested that Kate Moss and Pete Doherty were about to tie the knot.
But apparently, they were wrong.
A friend of the supermodel's insists Kate is not marrying the Babyshambles singer but is simply supporting him through his battle with drugs.
The friend said: "Kate Moss is not engaged and she was wearing her own ring.
"She's not going off to get married to Pete Doherty. She's being very supportive to him. He's had his implant and he's doing really well in his fight to get off drugs.
"She's being totally supportive but they're not engaged and they have no plans to marry."
The statements come after The Sun reported rumours the model and singer planned to wed in Ibiza.
They were said to have hired a nightclub on the Mediterranean island, where Babyshambles are due to perform tonight, for their ceremony.
At the weekend, Kate and Pete were spotted together at a recording of Channel 4's Transmission show - with Kate sporting what appeared to be an engagement ring.
An insider told the paper: "Pete is telling everyone he loves Kate and is desperate to marry her.
"He looked healthier than I've seen him for a long while - he looked well over it. They've been inseparable."
The Daily Mail also reported that Kate's pal Jade Jagger was helping with arrangements in Ibiza and the wedding could go ahead this week.
Kate, 32, first got together with Pete, 27, in January 2005.
They publicly appeared to split towards the end of the year - after Kate's drug scandal, but have recently been seen together a great deal, sparking rumours of their reunion and an engagement.
