Kate Winslet is fuming.
And she's taking a British magazine to court.
Why? Over false claims the actress visited a doctor to slim down.
In the 12th February 2007 issue of Grazia magazine, the mag claimed Kate was taking desperate measures to shed weight.
They reported she was seeking the advice of a "diet doctor" at the Chinese Healing Institute in Los Angeles to lose weight.
"I'm very upset, it's categorically untrue, it's a complete lie," Kate told the BBC on Sunday.
She continued: "I'm going to fight for myself. I don't want people thinking that I would ever go to a diet doctor. I never have done, and I never will.
"I will continue to say what I feel about this issue of women being thin and emaciated. It's just out of control."
"I know I am a role model to young women, it's a role I take very, very seriously. I would never want anyone to think I was a hypocrite in doing something like going to a diet doctor."
On Monday, attorneys for the actress confirmed proceedings for a libel lawsuit were being issued.
Kate's rep, Sarah Keene, told People magazine: "Kate is angry and upset about it because it is an issue she feels very strongly about.
"She will be issuing legal proceedings. She wants to get the message out there."
