So, what's the outcome?

Kate has been awarded libel damages.

She didn't personally appear in court, but her solicitor said the story published about her, in a February issue of Grazia, caused her hurt, distress, anger and embarrassment and damaged her reputation.

In the article, Dr Yi Pan discussed treatments he offered to Hollywood A-listers including Kate, at his Chinese Healing Institute in California.

Kate immediately complained to publisher Emap London Lifestyle Ltd, saying the article suggested she had lied to the public - as she has always spoken out against the pressure to remain slim.

In a statement Kate said: "Grazia magazine have apologised to me in full, and admitted that their story was incorrect, which gives me tremendous peace of mind.

"I am donating the damages given to me by Grazia to an eating disorder charity."

The charity involved has not been identified, however, her lawyers said that the sum involved was substantial.
