But Kiefer Sutherland ain't no ordinary guy.
The 24 star is currently serving a 48-day sentence for drink-driving at Glendale City Jail in Los Angeles.
And according to insiders, his time behind bars is ticking along rather nicely.
And no, it's not his Jack Bauer alter-ego kicking in.
Rather, Kiefer's jail cool is all thanks to an army load of fans who've got busy with spreading the love.
Yup, alongside kitchen duty and other such jail malarkey, Kiefer's apparently whiling away his prison stretch by sifting through a mountain loada fan mail in his one-person cell.
A prison source told the Metro:
"He's been getting more than 100 letters a day."
Nothing like a bit of jailbird ego-boosting, eh?
