As far as a singing career goes, Leon Jackson's on the money.
And ever the pro, he's partying to prove it.
The dark horse of The X Factor celebrated his 19th birthday yesterday, in what the The Daily Mirror newspaper reported to be a £25,000 Edinburgh-based bash.
Making it a double whammy reason to party, as his debut single When You Believe is at the number one slot in the UK singles chart for a second week running.
He remained in the top spot as his single, already tipped as the fastest-selling of the year, flew off the shelves, selling another 119,927 copies in the past week.
Keep going at this rate, and Leon's easily lined up as the hot new rival to last year's X Factor winner, Leona Lewis, who has herself enjoyed massive success with her latest single Bleeding Love.
Leona's album, Spirit, also held its number one placing in the albums chart yesterday.
Meanwhile Westlife clung on to their number two album spot with Back Home, while Michael Buble's Call Me Irresponsible slipped down one place to number four.
He was followed by Amy Winehouse's Back To Black album, which has enjoyed phenomenal success, with 61 weeks in the Top 40.
All of which makes for a v interesting 2008 in the music world - we can't wait.
