Lily Allen didn't have a good start to 2008.
But in the words of D:Ream, things can only get better.
And it seems that's the attitude Lil is taking.
She's spoken about her recent troubles on her MySpace page.
She wrote: "I went to a fashion show this morning and saw some old friends, which was nice, I have been venturing out the last week or so, trying to get back to normality after what has been a rocky start to the year.
"I went to a pre-Bafta party on Saturday with my friend George that was so lovely. I plan to go to a few things this week, it's fashion week here in London, so there's a lot going on, and hopefully it will be a fun week."
Poor Lil has been recovering from a miscarriage and recently split from boyfriend Ed Simons of The Chemical Brothers.
But it seems trusty old retail therapy has been on hand to help pick her up.
She went on: "Life is funny isn't it? To think that a Mac Book or a car is going to be the thing to make you feel better. Something will, soon I hope."
