Lindsay Lohan missed her own movie's premiere because her parents are getting divorced.
The actress flew back to the US from London to be with her mum as divorce proceedings begin.
She was meant to join her co-star Michael Keaton at the Leicester Square showing of the Disney film Herbie: Fully Loaded on Thursday night.
But the 19-year-old, who shot to fame in 1998 in the remake of The Parent Trap, left the UK "to join her mother and siblings" in New York.
She will also skip a whistlestop promotional tour of Germany.
The Hollywood star has had a fraught relationship with her father Michael Lohan who is currently serving four years in prison on various charges including assault and drink-driving.
Her parents' public divorce battle has seen mum and co-manager Dina suing for divorce and her father claiming a cut of his daughter's earnings.
A spokeswoman said: "Lindsay has decided to leave the Herbie tour to join her mother and siblings in New York for the start of her parents' divorce trial."
Lindsay, who has lost a dramatic amount of weight recently, plays a young female race-car driver in the sequel to The Love Bug.
