In all corners of the globe people were up and about celebrating Live Earth.

Al Gore announced that the concert, which spanned over seven continents, was "the largest global entertainment event in all of history".

Stars gave their tips on how to save the planet everywhere from Japan to Germany.

Backstage in New York, Rachel Weisz said: "Every tiny, tiny, tiny little thing adds up to something big."

And Jennifer Aniston advised folk on her "brush-wash" technique to cleaning her teeth in the shower.

She said: "I take a three-minute shower. I even brush-wash - brush my teeth while I shower.

"Every two minutes in the shower uses as much water as a person in Africa uses for everything in their life for a whole day."
