Chart-topper Estelle has told The Sun that the inspiration behind her hit tune American Boy is none other than the character Peggy (played by Su Pollard) from the comedy series Hi-de-Hi.
She even wanted to dress like her in the music video, but was stopped from doing so by her stylist.
She said: "The whole point was I'd sing it in the most ditzy voice ever. Su was my vibe for the whole song."
