MTV Europe - Winners

Avril LavigneAvril Lavigne scooped a double whammy last night at the MTV European Music Awards.

She beat the likes of Christina Aguilera and Rihanna to win the best solo artist of 2007.

The Canadian songstress also picked up a Most Addictive Track gong for her single, Girlfriend.

The ceremony, hosted by Snoop Dogg, also saw Rihanna win best urban act while Linkin Park took the band of 2007 title.

Nelly Furtado walked away with album of the year for Loose and Brit rock band Muse were voted best headliner and best UK & Ireland act.

Surprisingly Justin Timberlake failed to win any of the four categories he was voted in.
