Mandy MooreMandy MooreWe've all done things we want to forget.

But when you're in the public eye, it's not that easy to do...

Mandy Moore has revealed she's actually embarrassed by her first album So Real, released when the singer was just 15.

The 23 year old told the May issue of Elle magazine: "I'm sure other people look back on things they did when they were 15 and go, 'Oh, God'. That's how I feel about it. It's so embarrassing.

"I'm sure I was viewed as the young, untalented one...

"Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera had some great pop music. And then there was Jessica Simpson. And then there was me, and that's fine."

"I just want people to know I still sing. Most people don't realise that, or else they hate my music - rightfully so."

She also hopes her new indie flick Dedication, set to be released later this year, will help audiences see a more mature Mandy.

"If people watch the movie and their opinion of me somehow shifts, then great. But I never put those sorts of expectations on anything, because inevitably I'll just be disappointed.

"I'm mediocre at both (music and acting). I'm not trying to come across as self-deprecating. I'm just being honest."
