Mariah Carey has announced plans to write a series of children's books.
Following in the footsteps of fellow diva Madonna, Mariah will publish a series of illustrated children's tales following the life a bi-racial orphan girl.
Entitled Automatic Priincess, the stories will be based upon her own experiences growing up as part of a mixed-race family, website digitalspy.co.uk reports.
Mariah said: "The way I do things, I need to be involved. I wouldn't just be like, 'Here's a concept, go run with it.'
"It's still something I really want to do, and I'm going to do, and I'm going to start getting that into production soon."
Meanwhile, pop and movie star J.Lo is also set to become a writer.
The 35-year-old beauty will pen a self-help book on how celebrities can deal with the US paparazzi.
She's well qualified for the task. J.Lo's long-running affair with Hollywood hunk Ben Affleck gained her worldwide attention.
She said: "Nobody likes to hear somebody in the public eye, who they feel makes a lot of money, complain. So we don't, but it is a very strange thing.
"Nobody writes books about how to deal with that, so I think I'll do that next."
