Rock shocker Marilyn Manson is set for a surprise role as the Queen Of Hearts in a film version of the Alice In Wonderland story.
The self-styled 'anti-Christ superstar' will begin shooting for the film Living In Neon Dreams, based on the Lewis Carroll classic next month in Germany and South Africa.
The rocker will appear in the movie alongside Kill Bill star Darryl Hannah and British actor Tim Roth.
Manson said: "I'm not just playing a drag queen, I'm playing a woman. There's a big difference, and there's more work to do on that.
"So I'm studying early Joan Crawford and I've been kind of watching my lady at home, picking up some characteristics. She can teach me how to put my stockings on straight, though I think I've already mastered that."
It is not Manson's first big-screen role. He appeared as a drag queen in little-known movie Party Monster and played himself in short film Beat The Devil.
