And we've all heard the whispers about Katie Holmes having to keep quiet during labour when she has Tom Cruise's baby.
But now a certain Scientologist showbiz couple have stepped up to put us all straight about what a silent birth really entails.
Pulp Fiction star John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston have spoken out in case we'd taken the whole thing too literally.
According to IMDb, Kelly explained that a Scientology labour doesn't forbid the mother from screaming out in pain.
She said: "Screaming is fine... It's the words. If you can avoid saying certain phrases and words...
"Just try to keep it as quiet as possible. Of course you're going to groan and yell. It hurts. Just keep it to a minimum."
John added: "There are unwanted emotions and pain that goes along with any birth."
Previously, The Sun had reported that friends were spotted delivering 6ft-high 'birthing boards' to Tom and Katie's Beverly Hills mansion, where it's thought that 26-year-old Katie will deliver her baby.
One board is said to have read: "Be silent and make all physical movements slow and understandable."
Well, we're glad we've got that cleared up then.
