Get the low down on the new releases to hit cinemas this weekend... including the return of Sandra Bullock in fine comedy form in Miss Congeniality 2.
Plus there's British animated adventure with the voices of Ricky Gervais, Ewan McGregor and John Cleese in World War II pigeon drama Valiant, as well as an Oscar-nominated performance in Colombian drama Maria Full Of Grace.
MISS CONGENIALITY 2
Certificate: 12
Running time: 113m
What's it about? Bullock is back to her slightly barking best with the return of flighty FBI agent Gracie Hart. This time she's up against a couple of Vegas hoods who've kidnapped her best buddy Miss United States.
What's good? After a couple of stabs at serious roles, Bullock returns to the tried and tested and it would take a stern critic not to be, shall we say, enchanted by her comic timing and unselfconscious gooning.
What's bad? At coming on for two hours, it sags in the middle, but there are likeable turns from Regina King as a cop with anger issues and Diedrick Bader as a camp makeover maestro.
Worth a look? Yes. Sequels are seldom as successful as this, so it's a pleasure to welcome it to the local multiplex.

VALIANT
Certificate: U
Running time: 76m
What's it about? Britain's role as plucky little fella versus the bullying Hun is conjured up in this splendid animated caper about a squadron of carrier pigeons doing their bit during the dark days of World War II.
What's good? An all-star cast, including Ewan McGregor and John Cleese, get to voice the characters but it's Ricky Gervais who scores highest as street-smart, wheeler-dealer Bugsy, a grubby pigeon crowned with a halo of buzzing flies.
What's bad? Don't be a rotten sport - this is good, old Blighty in her finest hour.
Worth a look? Absolutely. Director Gary Chapman sublimely evokes the atmosphere of Dad's Army crossed with 633 Squadron and the period detail is beautifully rendered by (British) CGI.

MARIA FULL OF GRACE
Certificate: 15
Running time: 101m
What's it about? A dirt poor Colombian teenager dreams of a life in the USA... so she agrees to be a drugs mule aboard a New York-bound flight for a ruthless heroin cartel.
What's good? Catalina Sandino Morena gauges the right combination of bullish guile and dreamy naivete in her Oscar-nominated role as the teenager swallowing uncut pellets of scag.
What's bad? The druglords tend towards the one-dimensional but this is essentially the girl's story and it's a story told well.
Worth a look? Yes. Sober, uncompromising and searingly honest, it's a film that sheds light on the plight of South America's aspiring poor and those ready to exploit them.
